We already mentioned the villa in our previous special (see), vowing to return to visit it.
And so we did.

Accompanied by an expert and very kind guide from the local Pro Loco, we visited the splendid complex and its park.
The park is one of the most significant examples of an English landscape garden in Italy, created starting in 1772 by Marquis Ottavio Luigi and Giuseppe Picenardi.

The villa and the location absolutely deserve a trip and all possible attention.

A bit of history:
The castle villa owes its grandeur and beauty to the noble and ancient family of the Marquis Sommi Picenardi, who between the 18th and 19th centuries made the building one of the most important in the area.
The family was its exclusive owner for four centuries. Since 1962 it has belonged to the Cassani family
