In this special dedicated to the Livigno Marathon we would not focalize the competitive aspects, but simply point out some remarks that could be interesting non only for the athletes but also for the simple lovers.
Certainly there are in Italy more emblazoned and consequently more popular marathons.
We think, maybe not wrongly, that competing in a street of a big city with powders and heavy air is completely different than walking (and not only running) along the roads and the paths of the Little Tibet.
It is indubitable that watching around and see the walls of noble buildings is another matter than seeing (maybe with fatigue but certainly with pleasure) the green of hundred-year old pines and larches.
Even if the marathon runner is concentrated in his effort, he can’t certainly miss the beautiful landscape of the mountains all around.
After the hard fatigue, other awards wait for the winner, apart from the podium.
He quiet peace while you rest in the shadow of the woods enjoying the smells that only the mountain can give and also tasting the dainty and natural products of this wonderful territory. |
