the upper valley of Rabbi
(Rabbi (TN) – Trentino)

This special is dedicated to those who love the mountain for its colours: all the shades of green of the grass, of the larches, of the pines, the blaze of the flowers, the dark blue of the sky, and, why not, the threatening grey of a storm. To those who love the mountain for its silence, only broken by the bubble of a brook or by the more rushing roar of a stream, for its smells of moss, of resin, of just cut hay and naturally for its savours.
If you love this all, you have to go to the plain of Coler, in the National Park of the Stelvio, not only to rest but also for splendid more or less hard walks.
We suggest some of them:

  • toward Saent, stopping to admire the waterfall and then up to the Dorigoni hut and the Saent little lakes
  • to go uphill to Maleda valley or Cercen valley
  • and more the ascent to Corvo lake

A recommendation (maybe useless if you love mountain): "respect, respect and again respect"

Here I fail the tradition of our website and I mention the “Ai Fontanin” hut, where we stayed some days.
I won’t talk about the kindness and the helpfulness of the owners, but of the cooking and of the natural tastes.
Here who loves the flavour(less) frozen chips and hamburger would be better not to stop, but if you love the true traditional food (strictly handmade as I can testify) you have to stop at the Fontanin.
