We came back in the lands of Matilda of Canossa and, having quite thoroughly explored this territory and its castles, we propose a new suggestive historical hypothesis:
King Henry IV didn’t go to Canossa to show penance and submit to Pope Gregory VII but he went there because he was bewitched by that evocative country.
We already presented a matildic castle, Carpinete (link)) and now we went to the Castle of Rossena, threatened with a dark future.

The dark future:
The castle is now possessed by the Curia of Reggio which put it on sale in 2014.
It’s a great pain to see pieces of our history being alienated and most likely being closed to public.

So in our own small way we request the intervention of the Ministro dei Beni e delle AttivitàCulturaliso that this heritage could remain in use of its territory: remember that all the heritages represent a source of work and wealth for the inhabitants and the institutions.
