On the gentle hills that divide the valleys of the Ongina and Stirone torrents, a disregarded territory hides many naturalistic and architectural treasures.
Here we mention two architectural treasures away from each other about 10 minutes by car.
The oratory of San Genesio, quite unknown, and the medieval town of Vigoleno.

A bit of history:
San Genesio
the foundation is uncertain and varies from 9th century to 13th century, depending on the historians.
Vigoleno
Built to defend the road connecting Piacenza to Parma, its foundation dates back to 10th century.
The first records date back to 1141.
Its possession passed through various families, from the Scotti to the Pallavicino, to the Farnese.

A note:
To make sure you can visit the interesting interior of the oratory of San Genesio you should be there on Sunday morning, as it is often closed during the week.
