Our friend Max helps us to discover the botanical coastal garden of Porto Caleri also known as coastal botanical garden of the Veneto Region.

He brings us walking through landscapes continuously changing from pine forest to freshwater and brackish ponds or to Mediterranean scrub.
It is a very interesting place to be visited and particularly appropriate for school trips.

Some notes:
The park is placed in the southern part of the Rosolina Mare coast and covers an area of about 240.000 m2. (200,664 yd2).
It was realized in 90s by the Veneto Region with the aim of preserving and protecting a natural site of great scientific interest.
It has been declared Site of Community Importance and it has been included in the area of the Parco regionale Veneto del Delta del Po.
We only mention the various kinds of environments you can observe visiting the garden:

• The dune vegetation
• The Mediterranean scrub
• The freshwater ponds
• The pine wood
• The brackish ponds

• Ticket: Euro 2,50
• Opening time: from April to October
• Days and visiting times: on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday in April, May and from 19th September to October, from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 15.00 to 18.00 In June, July and August until 18th September from 10.00 to 13.00 and from 16.00 to 19.00.
• Guided tours: at 10.30 and at 15.30 and 16.30 in the summer months
