The fog to the steep hills
Amid the rain ascends..
In the Bassa there are not the Carducci’s steep hills, but the fog certainly exists.
Fog and Bassa are a marriage, the Bassa without fog would not be the Bassa.

Often it is the queen of the winter but even in summer you could wake up surrounded by a soft mist.
It is the fog which transforms the lights, the colors, the sounds and gives to the landscape a magic aspect.

I took the cue from the visit at the “Museo della nebbia” (San Secondo Parmense, November 2017) and I gathered some images of mine showing this peculiar aspect of the Bassa.
The museum highlighted the close connection between fog and food: for example, one for all, the culatello matured in cellars next to the great river where the fog is the mistress.
I can’t transmit the local flavors, so I highlight the changes of the landscape plunged into the fog, both the fields and the villages.

A note:
The Bassa Parmense, or simply the Bassa, is a territory that stretches for about 9.8 mi from the river Po to the Via Emilia.
This territory is very rich in flavors and history.
