After our visit to the Villa, we head towards the large park, hosting, among others, a monumental plane tree (platanus acerìfolia) with remarkable characteristics: 150 years old, 3,8 ft high

A bit of history::
Luigi Magnani (Reggio Emilia 29 January 1906 - Mamiano 15 November 1984) was the son of the entrepreneur Giuseppe Magnani and the Ligurian noblewoman Eugenia Rocca.
In 1929 he graduated in modern literature from the University of Rome.
Eclectic character, he was writer (winner of the Campiello in 1973), musician and musicologist.
But he was above all an art collector. His long-lasting friendship with the painter Giorgio Morandi led to the creation of the most important collection of Morandi's works.
From 1975 he dedicated himself to the creation of a foundation to which he entrusted his collection.

Named in memory of his parents, in 1976 the Magnani-Rocca Foundation was legally established.
