This special wants to demonstrate how many surprises our country hides.
Certainly some places don’t deserve a visit by themselves, but at least they are worth of a stop.
Rural and historical sides can be met along a provincial road and an attentive observer should not miss them.
Driving along some provincial roads from Cremona to Mantova we met very interesting rural zones and historical buildings.

The town hall, hosted at Villa Ugolani Dati, built at the half of 17th century, and some glimpses of the church and of the countryside

San Giovanni in Croce (CR)
Villa Medici del Vascello built in 1407 by Cabrino Fondulo, the lord of Cremona, and the oratory of the SS. Trinità built following the dictates of Saint Carlo Borromeo

Casteltidone (CR)
Palace Mina della Scala of the 17th century: a pity its neglect

Rivarolo Mantovano (MN)
Encircled by walls with three gates; Piazza Finzi (formerly called Piazza Grande) is surrounded by the main buildings as the Palazzo Pretorio and the Palazzo dei Conti, characterized by a wide colonnade.
