After a few years, we present again some pictures of the Giarola Nature Oasis.
Considering how the climate is evolving and how the river PO is suffering, it is hoped that the oasis, with its fauna and flora, will survive.
Just past the bridge over the Arda, the oxbow, once completely flooded and a refuge for many birds, is now completely dry and unrecognizable (see the area crossed out in red in the last image).

Here one can go on foot or by bicycle, observing, especially in the evening, the flight of birds.

A bit of history:
The oasis is a result of sand mining.
At the end of the extraction works, in the mid-1990s, the area underwent various interventions to re-landscape it.
