a short trip from the Lower to the Upper Genio
(Lagoni (PR) - Emilia Romagna)

This special is dedicated to the nature lovers, to everyone who loves the silences broken only by the gurgles of waters and by the wind blowing through the beeches.

And to those who can’t brave the effort of a long walk.

Getting to I Lagoni:
from Parma drive toward Langhirano; after an admired look to the castle of Torrechiara, go on southbound following the arrows “Corniglio-Lagdei-Lagoni”; once passed Bosco, follow the direction Lagdei-Lagoni as far as the paved road branches off in two dirt roads: take the left one to Lagoni as the right one leads to the Lagdei hut.
The road is not in excellent conditions but is practicable with a bit of patience: park at the Lagoni hut where you could dine.

The trip between the two lakes (see photo 32):
Just arrived we admired the first lake; turned toward the Lower Gemio, we took the path at its left-hand side (the path is not marked but it is impossible to get lost) walking up and down among ancient beeches and the reflections of the waters.
Once reached the tributary of the lake, we found a slight rise flanking the stream.
After a short effort we got to the Upper Gemio, surrounded by rough peaks, beeches and firs: it is beautiful even if the Lower one is wider.
We can assure that the effort of about an hour will be generously rewarded.

A note:
the Lagoni hut should be always open from June to October; in other periods the opening is occasional.
We advise you to inquire about at:
