medieval villages in Lunigiana: Equi Terme
(Fibvizzano (MS) – Toscana)

Almost dominated by the harsh rocks of the Alpi Apuane, at the confluence of the streams Lucido and Fagli, we find Equi Terme.
Famous since Roman Age for its healing waters and its baths, it is also known for the geological phenomena of the Fagli Valley and the living crib at Christmas.
But the most impressive characteristic, in our opinion, is the old village with its houses and rocky streets climbing up the slope to which it seems radicated.
We highly recommend you to visit it.

The mild weather, the healing waters, the spectacular geological phenomena (gorges, caves and erosions), the old time magic of the village make this place suitable for a relaxing holiday.

The healing waters, known since the Roman Age, have been systematically exploited from 1890.
Today the baths is equipped with an establishment for treatments and two swimming pools.

Without promoting anyone, we remember that here you could eat very well and taste dainty local products.

Unfortunately, just in these days (November 2011 ), a tragedy stroked the people of this region.
