The “CONTEA DI WAGNER”, ex shooting lodge of the count Biagio Gravina di Ramacca, placed in the green plain of Catania and filled with perfumes of orange blossoms of the citrus orchards, recalls a fascinating old story dating back to 1800.
The famous composer Richard Wagner, captivated by the charm of the place and by the warm hospitality, stayed in this hamlet and here he had inspiration for the composition of the “Hymn of the harvesters”, an integral part of the Parsifal.
In memory of the composer a plaque was placed here.
The hamlet, rich in tradition and history, still keeps the appeal and the simplicity of the country after being skilfully restored.

Of great interest the cultural activities as the “Maggio Musicale 2011” dedicated to Franz Liszt and the piano and the opera singing courses.
Finally don’t forget the traditional Sicilian cookery not to be missed and the discovery of the country with naturalistic, archaeological and cultural trips.
