At the beginning of the Ridanna valley stands the Wolfsthurn castle, an imposing building that overlooks the small town of Mareta (Mareit), a hamlet of Racines.

On the first floor since 1996 has been opened the Provincial Museum of Hunting and Fishing (Südtiroler Landesmuseum für Jagd und Fischerei) with historical and cultural information about these activities in the Alpine valleys.
On the second floor there are lavish rooms, maintained in their original state and reflecting the baroque atmosphere of the aristocracy of the 18th and 19th centuries.

A steep frontal footpath leads to the castle that is connected to the town also with an educational-naturalistic trail of about 1 km called "Forest and Water

A bit history:
Without historical evidences until 1200, the only defensive tower then existing was purchased by the Counts of Tyrol in 1240.
The Counts assigned the tower as a feud to Rudolfus Lupus.
The name of the castle derives from Rudolfus Lupus because of the German translation of the word “Lupus”.
From 1574 it was owned by the Grebmer family and around 1700 it passed to the Sternbach family of Bruneck.
Between 1727 and 1741, Franz Andreas von Sternbach transformed the castle into a Baroque style, the only one in this style all over the Tyrol.
