Following the indication of traveler/photographer Marco Cavallini, whom we met near the Giarola oasis, we went to visit the Cascina Alluvioni in the hamlet of Brancere, municipality of Stagno Lombardo.
With great sadness we observed the state of abandonment and decay of the jewel of agricultural architecture represented by the farmstead, the manor house, the courtyard, the aristocratic chapel and the surprising lemon house.
Almost everywhere, the vegetation has overtaken the buildings, the roofs have almost all collapsed and the whole structure is destined to disappear, thus obscuring a piece of history, if appropriate interventions do not take place.

But these ruins have a great charm, something mysterious pervades the whole complex and one can well understand the legends that surround it, with ghosts wandering between the chapel and the park.

A bit of history:
There is very little historical information about the complex.
Perhaps the lemon house dates back to the 1600s when several lemon houses were built in northern Italy to protect lemons from frost.
It was owned by the Germani family until the end of the 1800s.
Inhabited until 2010, it is now, as mentioned, completely abandoned.

A note:
Legend has it that the ghosts of the old owners buried in an unconsecrated ground roam around the chapel; others claim that it is the ghost of a maiden wandering on a white horse.
