In the collective imagination the Sardegna is a dry sunburned land.
To deny this image our friend Francesca brings us to the “Barbagia di Seulo”, where the river Flumendosa offers a really unique diversity of the landscape of the Sardegna.

The water becomes the protagonist of the scenery which can be defined as a “water landscape”.

Sa Stiddiosa:
from a spring on an overhanging tufa face a continuous drip falls in the riverbed of Flumendosa that flows in a natural swimming pool where you can bathe in summer.

Su Stampu’ e Su Turrunu:
a karstic phenomenon in millions of years created this fascinating waterfall which, after a 26.25 ft drop, reappears, as if by magic, in a cave that shows at its center a broad limpid lake.

Barbagia di Seulo (in the Sardinian language Barbagia ‘e Seùlu):
historical region of the central Sardegna, sparsely populated and characterized by a visual effect created by the gorges and the high tufa faces.

A note:
Also the villages deserve a visit, and notably Sadali with the church of Sant’Elena, probably dating back to Byzantine age (10th century), restored in the eighties.
