A walk at Busseto in the Parma “bassa” (lowland) beneath the long arcades to discover its small jewels: the Monte di Pietà library, Casa Barezzi, the Jesuit church of S. Ignazio. And, at the end, the large square dominated by the monument to Giuseppe Verdi and surrounded by terracotta palaces, by the Rocca, where you could visit the small precious theatre and by the collegiate church.
Just outside the walls we suggest a visit to Villa Pallavicino with the Verdi’s Museum and in its stables the Renata Tebaldi’s Museum and to the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli. A few kilometers away, at Roncole, there is the Verdi’s childhood home and the museum dedicated to Giovannino Guareschi. Finally beyond the stream Ongina there is Villa Verdi. |
